In a recent update to the popular progress block, a new feature to restrict the progress block to a single group in added.
The Progress Bar is a time-management tool for students. It visually shows what activities/resources a student is supposed to interact with in a course. It is color coded so students can quickly see what they have and have not completed/viewed. The teacher selects which pre-existing activities/resources are to be included in the Progress
Bar and when they should be completed/viewed.
Here is a quick video about the working of the progress bar block.
Progress Bar block is very popular on the Moodle plugins database and is currently been downloaded more than 129k times and maintained by the development manager Michael de Raadt
