Sometimes while writing content using the Moodle’s text editor it is quite difficult to assess the output of the text as it is dependent on the order of the text filters. Now, there is plugin Atto Toggle Preview available for you on the Moodle Plugins database to quickly assess the results of the text content entered in any text area. This feature is handy especially in developmental and debugging situations, thanks to Daniel Thies for such a nice piece of work.
It enables the results of filters to be seen and the text to be corrected without first closing and reopening the editing page. When the button is pressed, the content of the editor is passed through the filters enabled on the editing page, and the result is displayed in an iframe over the content window over the editor content window. The site administrator can change the page layout of the preview to fit with the theme or desired usage of the site.
This plugin makes a preview button available to the Atto editor. When the button is pressed the content of the editor is passed through the filters enabled on the editing page and the result is displayed over the editor content window. Pressing the button again closes the preview.
You can download the latest version of the plugin form this link: https://moodle.org/plugins/view/atto_preview
To install the plugin, you need to extract the contents of zip file in Your-Moodle-root-directory/lib/editor/atto/plugins and then enable it in the Atto Toolbar settings page Toolbar Config Field by adding
preview = preview
