Moodle 3.1 the next LTS version of Moodle which was scheduled to be release in the Second week of May is delayed by 2 weeks due to final touch-up of amazing new features coming in this version.
In a recent announcement on Moodle Forums, Marina Glancy – The development process manager at Moodle HQ, has announced about the delay in release of Moodle 3.1. According to the announcement:
We are working hard here in Moodle HQ to deliver Moodle 3.1 to you full of new and amazing features. We are still polishing some of these new features and we do not want to start other pre-release tasks such as community QA cycle and documentation writing before the polishing is finished. Therefore we decided to move the release date by two weeks and instead of planned second Monday of May it will happen on 23rd of May.
The impact of the delay will also effect the Code Freeze deadline with new deadline of 18th April. The other minor point releases are still scheduled on 09 May. Read the full announcement here.
