Increase student interaction by extending badge plugins #MoodleBadges

Awarding badges in your Moodle course is a great way to increase the student interaction and motivating them. In the last few days 3 plugins related to badges are released in the Moodle plugin directory which allows you in extending the management and reporting of badges.

The plugins are as follows:

  • Badge Pool – With the Badges Pool plugin you can create badge templates which can be used to simplify creating badges in all courses of your moodle system. These templates can be organized in categories and exported to a XML file to share them with others.
  • Recent Badges – It is a block plugin which allows you to display recently awarded course and site badges from all users.
  • Badge Ladder – This plugin provides two leaderboards for awarded badges. The first leaderboard shows the available badges sorted by the number of users owning this badge. The second one shows all users sorted by the number of badges owned by them.
