Moodle Flavours is a plugin which was initially developed as a part of the GSoC 2011 under the mentorship of Michael de Raadt. The good news for all Moodle site administrators is that now you can download all the settings done for a Moodle site including the plugins installed, language pack and language customization into a compressed file and deploy them onto another Moodle site.
Moodle Flavours plugin is maintained by David Monllaó and is available for all Moodle versions upto Moodle 3.0 starting from Moodle 2.1.
You can download a Moodle flavour compressed file and then:
- share the package with the Moodle community
- store it as a backup
- use it to replicate the flavour to other installations they manage.
It could also be useful for administrators with little Moodle experience, allowing them to explore the Moodle settings and setup recommended by others.
The plugin is also awarded by the Reviewers Choice Badge which is an award given by the plugins guardians and reviewers for particularly useful, well coded or otherwise interesting plugins.
Please note that deploying the settings through Moodle Flavours plugin may result in unexpected behaviors, so better to use the Admin Presets plugin.
