Block concurrent connections to quiz using this plugin #MoodlePlugins

What you will do in case someone helps student to solve quiz by accessing quiz with students username/password from other computer?

Vadim Dvorovenko has come up with a new plugin to prevent concurrent sessions to quiz using the onesession quiz access plugin which blocks any attempts to open same quiz attempt using another computer, device or browser. This may be useful to make sure that no one helps student by opening same quiz attempt on other computer.

block-concurrent-quizIf “Block concurrent connections” is enabled under the Extra Restrictions on Quiz Attempt section in Quiz Settings then the users can continue quiz attempt only in the same browser session.

In case of computer or browser failure during the quiz attempt, the teacher can unlock the attempt through attempt review page and  allow student to continue quiz attempt on other device. Teacher can also see the logs to determine if someone tried to cheat during the quiz attempt.

To install the plugin, you need to extract the contents of the zip file into Your_Moodle_Site/mod/quiz/accessrule directory and visit the notification page to complete the installation. The plugin works for Moodle 3.0 or later. However, the plugin is not yet officially released from Moodle Plugins database but still you can give it a try on your development site.

Do you ever need to prevent students from cheating during the quiz? How you have managed to prevent it? Do let us know in the comments below.
