Automatically send reminder emails to students to complete course activities using the Reengagement plugin #MoodlePlugins

Catalyst IT, the Moodle Partner from New Zealand, have shared a very useful and interesting plugin “Reengagement” with Moodle community which allows you to sent email reminders to your students for completing the course activities. Apart from that you can also use it to release the timed content in your course.


The Reengagement plugin is a very innovative plugin for Moodle and provides a way for you to remind students to return to the course and complete activities. Being a Activity category plugin, Reengagement has to be installed in Your-Moodle-Site/mod directory, followed by completing the installation process through the Notifications page. Read the Plugin installation guide for complete steps about installing a new plugin in Moodle.

Intended Usage:

The plugin is intended for all Moodle teachers who wish to notify their students to return to the course and complete activities.

The email is sent a specified period of time after a starting event, which may be enrolment in the course, or completing an earlier activity. If the user has already completed the target activity, no email is sent.


The plugin is supplied with a Moodle Docs page at which supplies the information about adding a reengagement activity in your course and setting up.
