Add community wiki with Social Network using SocialWiki plugin

Another new plugin added to the Moodle Plugins database this week is the SocialWiki activity plugin. This is a social kind of wiki, where many page versions may coexist, and where users can connect (‘follow’ each other) in a social network.

According to the plugin description:

SocialWiki is where a wiki and a social network collide. Its concepts are inspired from the P2Pedia project, but integrated with Moodle it gains management features making it feasible to integrate many familiar concepts from popular social networks.

You can like a page, and you can follow a user. Choose what you like and the trust metrics will use your likes and follows will decide what pages you prefer to see. All page versions are available all the time and the user can use these metrics to decide which page will work best for them.

SocialWiki activity module for MoodleComplete documentation guide about the SocialWiki can be downloaded from this link. The plugin is developed by Babak Esfandiari and is available for all Moodle versions from Moodle 2.6 onwards.

You can download the latest version of the SocialWiki plugin from the Moodle plugins database through this link – https://moodle.org/plugins/view/mod_socialwiki

What is your view about using this social wiki activity module in your Moodle course and whether it can help in increasing the socialism among the participants? Let us know your views in the comments below.
