Create flexible course layouts using the BOARD (Grid Course Format) #MoodlePlugins

April 5th, 2016

Now you can completely customize the layout of sections in your Moodle course using the new Board course format plugin which is released for Moodle 3.0 version.

Board aka grid course format plugin allows you to have full flexibility between sections and columns. You can choose the quantity and width of columns and sections in each column which makes it very easy to customize the layout of the course.

The plugin also comes with a designer mode which can be turned on from the course settings page to check the position and size of the sections as it will show the sections with a different color background.

When I tested the Board format on my local development server, I found that the plugin is very good for use and plan the layout according to your requirements but the number of fields for sections displayed on the course settings page is too much making to scroll all the way down to save the course settings.
