Stealth activities which were requested in Moodle tracker a long time back since 2006 are coming soon in Moodle and currently under peer review process. A prototype to test out the functionality of stealth activities is setup at Moodle Prototype site here.

Stealth activities are those activities which are accessible to students, but not listed on the course front page. The course creator will manually put a link to the activity somewhere else in the course and the activities would be available by following URL but hidden from the course page. Read More

New Plugin – Checkmark and Checkmark report

New additions to the Moodle plugins database this week are Checkmark activity module and Checkmark report plugin.

The Checkmark activity module allows teachers to obtain information about the assignments completed by the students prior to a lesson whereas the Checkmark report (local/checkmarkreport) is an extension to the module checkmark and shows the marks and grades for one or more checkmarks in a tabular form. Moodle developer meeting – New Lesson creation page coming soon!!

The existing Lesson activity interface is very difficult to understand for a newbie Moodler which makes it horrible for the person who has not created the lesson.

Subcourse activity module updated for Moodle 2.9

The subcourse activity module which is actively maintained by David Mudrak, Matt Gibson & Vadim Dvorovenko has been updated for Moodle 2.9 version.

The subcourse activity module provides very simple yet useful functionality. When added into a course, it behaves as a graded activity. Import/export Book content to Epub format and vice versa

Newly added plugins to the Moodle Plugins database brings a very useful functionality to import Epub books into your Moodle course within the Book module and vice versa.

In addition to importing an entire book, you can choose to import chapters as individual books. Similarly, Add a book activity to your Moodle course, add content to the book – either by writing or importing from EPUB ebooks, then use the Lucimoo ebook export tool to export the book as a regular EPUB ebook. Realtime quiz activity is a multiple-choice quiz designed for use in a face-to-face lesson. All students receives the same question at same time and specific time limit to answer it.
