Moodle 3.1 will bring a lot of new features along with the stability of being an LTS version. One of the new features named “User Disguise” which will be useful for students as well as teachers in Role Playing, Games, Disguised discussions etc.
Martin Dougiamas has confirmed the inclusion of the User Disguise features in Moodle 3.1 in the keynote speech “The road ahead for Moodle” during the MoodleMoot Ireland UK 2016.
The User disguise feature will allow the students to ask any kind of questions without the fear of embarrassment, or playing games in a forum, Reduced inhibition in interaction, Role playing and Disguised discussion for questions and feedback etc.
Andrew Nicols, Developer at Moodle HQ has posted about the peer review of the new feature in Moodle forums. Complete specifications for development of the feature are mentioned in the document here.
Full details about the User Disguise feature are mentioned in the Moodle Tracker issue MDL-1071 which dates back in 2004 era. Currently the status of the tracker issue is showing as “Waiting for Integration review” but hopefully we will see it in Moodle 3.1 soon.
