August 24th, 2016

Ed Boyd, Vice President, Dell Experience Design Group has shared the vision of Dell company to create the classroom of the future which will be assisted by the Robots and digital assistants.

He claimed that real breakthrough in future of the tech enabled learning lies in personalized learning. He mentioned that although we are having PC and smartphones enabled classrooms but the real breakthrough lies in exploring what technology can do to enhance the human progress.

The use of the term Personalized learning dates back to 1960’s era. In 2005, Dan Buckley defined two ends of the personalized learning spectrum: “personalization for the learner,” in which the teacher tailors the learning, and “personalization by the learner,” in which the learner develops skills to tailor his own learning.

Here is short video by Dell which shows a new wave of compute technology -fueled by; big data analytics, the internet of things, augmented reality and it will change the way we live and work to be more immersive and natural with technology in the role as partner. Check out the video below:

The whole concept revolves around the use of Digital assistants who could step in to personalize the learning experience for each student based on their prior learning and experience. Self-paced learning to supplant and support classroom learning…that’s the next big advancement.
